Cricket South Africa (CSA) is considering a request from the Bangladesh board president Mustafa Kamal for South Africa to play Bangladesh in May, CSA’s acting chief executive Jacques Faul has said. Kamal made a request to CSA president Willie Basson last week and offered to pay all the costs, whether the series takes place in Bangladesh or South Africa.”We have received the request and we are in the process of checking whether it would be possible,” Faul told ESPNcricinfo. “We’ve got nothing against it, it’s just about scheduling. At the moment, I can say it is a request we are looking at.”Faul will meet with the South African Cricketers’ Association (SACA) and national coach Gary Kirsten next week to discuss the possibility of playing the series. He said the decision will be based on South Africa’s schedule and whether this fixture can be included without causing fatigue. “We always want to play cricket and foster cricket but we’ve got to be careful with how much preparation and how much rest we give our team,” Faul said. “It is quite important how we pace the team.”Bangladesh have no international cricket scheduled before the World Twenty20 in September. Their trip to Pakistan, for an ODI and a T20 later this month, was put on hold after a court order placed a four-week embargo on the tour, and their visit to Zimbabwe in August was postponed because of work being done on the pitches in Harare and Bulawayo.By contrast, South Africa’s schedule is busy. Having already spent a month in New Zealand, they will go to England for more than two months in early July, head straight to Sri Lanka for the World T20, tour Australia in October and November and then host New Zealand during the home summer.Even if all parties agree the Bangladesh-South Africa series should go ahead, it will face a number of logistical problems. With the IPL only ending on May 27, South Africa could be without some of their key players. Twenty South African players, including limited-overs captain AB de Villiers and bowlers Dale Steyn and Morne Morkel, are involved in the IPL. Bangladesh, though, only have two players in the competition – Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal.Another issue will be location. The matches are unlikely to be held in Bangladesh because of the heat in summer and Faul confirmed South Africa, where it will be winter in May, was the only possibility as a venue. “Winter will be a factor for sure,” Faul said. “Durban is a possible venue but the Highveld [Johannesburg and Centurion] will be out.” Cape Town, where in rains in winter, will also not be a possibility.Another option would be for the series to be held in Zimbabwe, who were approached by the BCB to participate in a tri-series with South Africa. While Zimbabwe Cricket officials could not be reached on Sunday for confirmation on whether they received the request and were considering it, cricket can be played there during their winter. They will host South Africa for five T20 matches, which have not been given international status, in June before maintenance work on their two main centres begins.Zimbabwe could also travel to South Africa for the proposed tri-series and Faul said CSA would welcome the idea. “We always try to help Zimbabwe, we have an obligation to them because we are closest to them and we try to look after them where we can.”

Na noite desta terça-feira, o CRB surpreendeu o líder Fortaleza e com o triunfo por 2 a 1 escapou da zona do rebaixamento. O resultado deixou o Galo na 15ª colocação, com 25 pontos. Já o Leão permanece na ponta, com 43.

O jogo

O primeiro tempo ficou marcado pelas raras oportunidades. Na zona de rebaixamento, o CRB só atacava na boa e preferia deixar a posse de bola com o Fortaleza, que pouco criava.

A única chance do Galo veio nos primeiros minutos. Após cruzamento de Lucas, o meia Edson Ratinho cabeceou no contrapé de Boeck e a bola triscou a trave.

Tímido no campo ofensivo, o Fortaleza quase não assustou João Carlos. Diante da dificuldade, o chute mais perigoso surgiu com o volante Derley, que soltou a bomba e o arqueiro espalmou.

Se a primeira etapa não teve emoção, o segundo caminhava para o mesmo panorama até os 20 minutos. Marcelo Boeck cobrou tiro de meta, Claudinei cortou de cabeça e Neto Baiano, sempre ele, ganhou na corrida dos zagueiros e tocou por cima do goleiro do Fortaleza para abrir o marcador.

O empate do Fortaleza veio em raro momento de lucidez do ataque. Romarinho levou a marcação pelo lado direito e cruzou para Gustavo. O artilheiro cabeceou e balançou a rede de João Carlos.

Nesta quarta-feira, o Ovación noticiou que Óscar Tabárez teve uma reunião com membros do Comitê Executivo da AUF (Associação Uruguaia de Futebol) para tratar de sua permanência na seleção do país. De acordo com o veículo, haverá um novo encontro na quarta-feira.

O contrato de Tabárez chegou ao fim após a Copa do Mundo na Rússia e ele chegou a anunciar que não permaneceria, mas a situação pode mudar nos próximos dias. Desde antes do Mundial, Aguirre é um dos nomes mais comentados para substituí-lo. Foi por isso que o São Paulo só assinou com ele após receber a garantia de permanência pelo menos até dezembro.

– Acho que ele(Aguirre) não está se guiando muito por isso, pelos rumores com relação à seleção uruguaia. Falamos disso no início, ele disse que não iria no meio do ano, e desde então ele faz questão de dizer que está muito feliz aqui, já pensando em futuro. Não existiu nenhuma conversa direta sobre renovação, mas existe um processo para isso. Ele já foi consultado, está bem aqui, diz que está feliz. Agora é uma construção de uma situação futura, obviamente a gente tem a prioridade de continuar com toda essa comissão – disse Raí, ao Sportv.

Na mesma entrevista, o diretor admitiu certa surpresa com a rapidez com que os jogadores absorveram os métodos de Aguirre e passaram a dar resultado.

-O que pode surpreender é a velocidade. Ele chegou no meio da temporada, em uma situação complicada, e a resposta ao trabalho dele foi muito rápida. Já era um bom grupo, a gente sabia desde o início, e acho que ele soube cutucar os pontos certos. Os jogadores acreditaram no trabalho dele, responderam ao trabalho dele. O estilo dele de saber mexer, de ter uma concorrência saudável, ser direto com os atletas, foi passando confiança. A gente já tinha essa expectativa, mas a velocidade foi realmente acima do normal.

Aguirre foi eliminado do Paulistão pelo Corinthians e da Copa do Brasil pelo Atlético-PR com poucos dias de trabalho, mas já mostrando evolução. No Brasileirão, é o líder após 18 rodadas disputadas. Na Sul-Americana, perdeu por 1 a 0 para o Colón no jogo de ida e vai em busca da vaga nas oitavas de final às 21h45 desta quinta-feira, na Argentina, precisando da virada.

Andrew Symonds, the former Australia allrounder, has announced his retirement from professional cricket, citing family reasons. He hasn’t played for Australia since being sent home from the World Twenty20 in England three years ago, but has turned out for several domestic sides in limited-overs cricket.His only current contract was with the Mumbai Indians, but he will not be participating in this year’s IPL. “Effective immediately, I am retiring from all forms of professional cricket,” Symonds said. “It is with regret that I will not be able to fulfill my final year of the IPL with the Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians and the IPL have both been very supportive of me, but the impending arrival of my first child is a priority.”Symonds, 36, had cut ties with his home side Queensland before the 2010-11 Big Bash, and has only played for Mumbai since. He was snapped up for $850,000 at the IPL auction last year, but he had an indifferent time with Mumbai. Symonds failed to make a half-century in either the IPL or the Champions League T20 in 2011, and struggled to hold down a permanent spot in the line-up.Mumbai thanked Symonds for his performance in 2011. “Andrew Symonds was an integral part of Mumbai Indians in season four as well as our Champions League-winning team,” a team spokesman said. “He was a great team player and the youngsters always looked up to him for guidance.”A two-time World Cup winner, Symonds was an acknowledged master of limited-overs cricket. A combination of big-hitting, tigerish fielding and an ability to bowl either spin or medium-pace made him an indispensable part of the Australia side for much of the 2000s. Picked on his undoubted but as yet unfulfilled promise for the 2003 World Cup, Symonds crashed a match-shaping century against Pakistan, hours after the team had been stunned by Shane Warne’s withdrawal due to a drugs offence.He remained integral to the ODI team thereafter, though given to occasional bouts of indiscipline. Symonds was dropped from the team in England in 2005 when he turned up for an ODI against Bangladesh in Cardiff while still under the influence of alcohol. The issue of drinking would re-emerge in 2008.At the time it seemed Symonds had belatedly transferred his ODI influence form to Test matches, but he became embroiled in the biggest controversy of his career after alleging that India offspinner Harbhajan Singh racially abused him in the Sydney Test in 2008.The fall-out from the episode, which had Harbhajan’s original ban reduced to a fine after Cricket Australia cut a side-deal with an indignant Indian board in order to save the tour, caused Symonds to become disillusioned and increasingly wayward in his lifestyle, both with and away from the national team.His international career was hit by more trouble later that year, when he missed a compulsory team meeting to go on a fishing trip ahead of a one-day series against Bangladesh. He was left out for the India tour which followed, as well as the visit to South Africa soon after.Symonds was given a chance to prove himself once more at the World Twenty20 in 2009, but an alcohol-related issue prior to the tournament brought his Australia days to an end.

Com o gol marcado por Diego Souza, ambos agora têm 12 gols na temporada. No Brasileirão, os números também são iguais: oito gols marcados por cada. Além de falar sobre a assistência, Nenê também citou ter feito cobranças ao time no intervalo e apresentou as razões.

– A parte do gol, fiquei feliz porque não tinha dado nenhuma assistência para o Diego. Estranho, né? (risos) A gente tem uma conexão ali, temos os mesmos gols. Fiquei feliz. Sobre o time, não só cobrei, mas motivei. Precisávamos de um pouco mais de intensidade, o time estava muito espaçado. Não estava dando certo, saíamos na hora errado – completou.

Para o camisa 10, um dos motivos de desconcentração do São Paulo foi a atuação do árbitroAndré Luiz de Freitas Castro. Nenê garantiu que parte de suas instruções foram dadas apenas para fazer com que o time esquecesse o juiz e focasse apenas em fazer um bom jogo.

– Falei também para esquecer o juiz, pensar no que faríamos dentro de campo.Temos de ter leitura de jogo, ajudar os mais novos. Não só no jogo, mas na parte de mentalidade. É algo que a gente tenta fazer da melhor maneira possível.Aconteceram algumas coisas, de cabeça quente você acaba falando alguma coisa, estava de cabeça quente no último jogo. Faz parte, ser humano erra. Temos que pensar na gente, focar – finalizou.

O São Paulo agora terá a semana livre para treinar antes de enfrentar o Santos, no próximo domingo, às 16h, na Vila Belmiro, em partida válida pela 25ª rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro.
