However, it’s not all good news on the return to Merseyside as a major setback emerges.

What’s the word?

The Liverpool boss took to his pre-match press conference yesterday to give an update on Diogo Jota’s injury that he sustained in the first half of the 2-0 win over Inter Milan midweek.

Klopp told the press;

“He will not be available but the extent is still not clear. It will need further assessment. It’s something around the ligaments. Everything is pretty much possible in the moment. Hopefully it will be really quick.”

The striker appeared to suffer a twisted ankle during the game, but further added to concerns when he was spotted using crutches whilst travelling home from Italy on Thursday.

Klopp will be seething

There is no doubt that Klopp will be seething to suffer an injury to such an important and impactful player to his side, especially at this point of the season where latter stages of tournaments are coming up and the chances for Liverpool to close down Manchester City at the top of the table becomes a tighter challenge.

The Reds have three games over the next eight days, with Norwich today, Leeds United on Wednesday and the Carabao Cup Final on Sunday against Chelsea at Wembley, and the loss of Jota will come as a huge blow.

The Portuguese forward is enjoying the best season of his career so far at Liverpool with a goal involvement every 115 minutes, scoring 17 goals and assisting his team mates three times already – his 12 Premier League goals put him up as the second top goal-scorer in the league this season ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo and Raheem Sterling, only playing second fiddle to his team mate Mohamed Salah, who has scored 16 league goals so far.

Klopp will be hoping that he can rely on his other forwards to deliver in Jota’s absence, with Sadio Mane returned from AFCON and Luis Diaz joining the club in January, and so there should be enough quality in the side to deliver what is needed to stay in contention for a chance to catch Manchester City in the title race.

Speaking to Give Me Sport, reporter Alex Crook has made a triple West Ham United transfer claim involving Fulham players Fabio Carvalho, Tosin Adarabioyo and Antonee Robinson.

After an underwhelming January transfer window, despite big offers being made in the final week, West Ham could not add to their roster and strengthen manager David Moyes’ options.

“They’re looking at a few Fulham players – Fabio Carvalho, Antonee Robinson and Tosin Adarabioyo. All of those, I think, are a possibility.”

The Verdict: Get it done?

All three of these Championship stars have merit, but with Carvalho reportedly agreeing personal terms with Liverpool, West Ham nipping in is unlikely but not impossible.

In terms of centre-halves, they don’t come more powerful than Tosin, who stands at a lofty 6 foot 4 and has attracted praise from former boss Pep Guardiola at Man City.

Homegrown and still young at 24-years-old, he’s made more clearances per 90 than any Fulham player in the Championship this season and has proved himself a real asset for Marco Silva (WhoScored).

He could certainly be a candidate for West Ham’s centre-back ranks.

وأضاف: “إذا لم تصل لك الكرة لا تذهب بعيدًا عن مكانك لكي تتسلم الكرة، لأن هذا يأخذ من واجباتك الهجومية”.

واختتم: “المهاجم عندما لا يظهر كثيرًا ولا تأتي له الكرة، يريد أن يتحرك من مكانه الأساسي وينزل يتسلم الكرة”.

يلتقي فريق برشلونة مع خصمه فالنسيا، على ملعب الأخير، مساء اليوم السبت في بطولة الدوري الإسباني.

تأتي تلك المباراة في إطار منافسات الجولة الثانية عشر من بطولة الدوري الإسباني، وذلك على ملعب “ميستايا”.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou has dropped an update on the availability of Daizen Maeda ahead of tonight’s Old Firm clash.

Ronald Ebanks cashed in as the batsmen went in search of quick runs, picking a five-for in the end overs.Jordan DeSilva’s opening spell quickly put paid to the visitors’ hopes of launching their chase, sending the openers back early.
