كان الشوط الشوط الأول من المباراة قد انتهى بالتعادل السلبي بين الفريقين، بعدما فشل كلاهما في التسجيل.

وجاء هدف يوفنتوس، والمباراة الوحيد، في الدقيقة 51 من عمر اللقاء والذي سجله اللاعب فيديريكو جاتي.

بتلك النتيجة، ارتفع رصيد يوفنتوس إلى 36 نقطة في المركز الأول، بينما تجمد رصيد نابولي عند 24 نقطة في المركز الخامس.

ويتصدر يوفنتوس جدول الدوري الإيطالي بعد هذا الفوز، مؤقتًا، لحين خوض إنتر ميلان مباراته في تلك الجولة ضد أودينيزي مساء غد السبت.

Start time 1600 local (1030 GMT)Big pictureBefore the start of the season, Sunrisers Hyderabad seemed to have stitched together a fairly good-looking squad on paper, with excellent overseas additions in Kane Williamson, Trent Boult, Ravi Bopara and Eoin Morgan adding to their core of David Warner, Shikhar Dhawan and Dale Steyn. Trouble is, you can only play four overseas players at the same time, and Sunrisers have struggled to find their best eleven.In that struggle they have lost three of their first four games, while winning the other convincingly enough – against Royal Challengers Bangalore – to suggest there’s definite potential for improvement. But potential only means so much, and they will have to start stringing together actual performances right away, starting with their home game against Kolkata Knight Riders, to climb out of the crowded bottom of the table.It won’t be easy. Knight Riders’ win over Delhi Daredevils on Monday was a performance that distilled their strengths so clinically – expert constriction with the ball, despite an uncharacteristically expensive spell from Sunil Narine, followed by a sensibly constructed chase – it was a little boring to watch. Knight Riders won’t mind being called boring if they keep playing like that, though. They know their strengths, they know their best eleven, and pride themselves on the standards they set. Unless they have a rare bad day, Sunrisers will have to be at or close to their best to beat them.Watch out for…Eoin Morgan came into the IPL on the back of perhaps the worst form slump of his career, and came into the Sunrisers XI in place of a massive name in Kane Williamson. He’s there for a reason – Williamson fits best in the top three, where Sunrisers have a decent number of options, while Morgan is a number five or six, where they have a hole to fill – but he hasn’t really convinced in his two innings so far. A match against his old team might be a good starting point for him to turn his form around.After a seemingly never-ending streak of 40-plus scores last season, Robin Uthappa’s form has dipped, and he’s made scores of 9, 35, 13 and 13 this season. He’s played some sparkling shots in the brief time he’s spent in the middle, suggesting he isn’t in particularly bad touch, and his run of scores hasn’t really affected Knight Riders’ performances too much, but he will certainly want to contribute more to their cause.Stats and trivia Sunil Narine has been his usual economical self this season, conceding only 6.81 runs an over, but his wicket-taking ability seems to have diminished: he’s only taken two wickets in four matches, at an average of 54.50. Yusuf Pathan is the only batsman to score more than 100 runs in matches between Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad. No Sunrisers batsman has scored a half-century against Knight Riders.

Paul Terry, the newly-appointed director of coaching at BCB’s National Cricket Academy, has said his primary goal will be to make the High Performance unit, a so far successful but discontinued training programme for elite cricketers, a long-term agenda. Terry came to Dhaka last week to finalise his deal with the BCB and will be in charge of overall coaching at the academy.”We are hoping that this [High Performance] is going to be a sustainable programme,” Terry said. “It is here to stay. We need to get results from it with people eventually going on to play for Bangladesh. The idea is to give the young guys, possibly coming out of the Under-19s programme, a pathway to the next level. Our idea is to put a plan, structure and training programme to give them the opportunity to do that. If we do that, this will be very sustainable.”In a bid to rejig Bangladesh cricket’s development programme, the BCB has decided to go back to forming the High Performance unit to fuel a players’ pipeline to feed the senior team. The HP unit, set to begin in the first week of June with a head coach to be named sometime next week, is a training programme first established in 2004 under Richard McInnes. Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Shahriar Nafees and Mehrab Hossain Jr were in the first batch, but over the last decade the BCB has been unable to restart the programme.The National Cricket Academy, a residential training camp, was formed and run in a separate building and training ground within the premises of the Shere Bangla National Stadium but it has been operational only during the off season with mainly the Under-23 players. The HP unit, under the NCA, will be divided into three parts. The first group will have a group of 22, mostly young cricketers who will train for four months, but it is likely that domestic performers who are older will be included in this group.The second group will be fringe cricketers of the senior team who will be training around the year when they are not picked in a certain format or series. Here the coaches will work according to the instructions of the national team’s coaching staff. Sarwar Imran will work with the pace bowlers, Wahidul Gani with the spinners and Zafrul Ehsan with the batsmen. A few local coaches and foreign specialist coaches will accompany them from time to time. The HP’s overall goal would be to reduce the gap between the national players and the next batch.The third group will be featuring 16-17 pace bowlers, including Mashrafe Mortaza and Taskin Ahmed, as well as domestic performers and raw talents like Nahid Hasan, who is currently in Bangladesh’s Under-17 side but was also tried out for the Under-19s against South Africa in the recent Youth ODI series at home.The Under-19s, however, will be taken out of the HP or academy programmes. They will now be permanently based at the BKSP in Savar.Terry said he would work towards building relations with coaches and players, and not try a certain way of coaching that would be alien to cricket development in Bangladesh.”It will be stupid of me to say we will do it the England or Australian way,” he said. “My role is to build good relationships with the coaches and also the players. There’s obviously a lot of very good things happening in Bangladesh cricket at the moment. So I would be stupid to say I will do it my way because my way may not necessarily work.”I will be obviously blending in and know them very well. Hopefully the combination of different thoughts will improve Bangladesh cricket. A little similar to how the support staff is: a Sri Lankan head coach, a Zimbabwean bowler and English fielding coach plus Bangladeshi staff as well.”

INÍCIO ELÉTRICO
Dentro de casa, o Santos não mediu esforços desde o minuto inicial para que chegasse com facilidade ao ataque, de olho nos três pontos. Afinal, um clássico, confronto direto, o famoso “jogo de seis pontos” estava em disputa. E a estratégia utilizada pela equipe comandada por Jorge Sampaoli deu o seu resultado. Eduardo Sasha, no minuto inicial, Jean Mota, em cobrança de falta, e em uma jogada com ambos, foram os primeiros três lances de perigo contra o gol defendido por Jailson. Até que aos 12, Gustavo Henrique subiu mais alto para estufar as redes e colocar o 1 a 0 no placar para o Peixe.

CORREÇÃO DO VAR
O Palmeiras estava irreconhecível em campo, e o Santos buscava aproveitar os espaços que acabava encontrando. Não demorou muito após abrir o placar para ampliar. Aos 16, Pará achou Diego Pituca, que mandou para o gol. O goleiro Jailson pegou, mas acabou dando rebote. Na sobra, Marinho estufou as redes e fez o 2 a 0. No momento inicial, a auxiliar assinalou impedimento, mas o vídeo, corretamente, a corrigiu, validando o gol – Marinho estava na mesma linha que Vitor Hugo. No restante da etapa inicial, o Santos tentou o terceiro, mas o gás inicial já não era mais o mesmo.

VITÓRIA CONFIRMADA
Na volta para o segundo tempo, o Santos administrou o resultado, colocando o pé no freio, até por conta do Palmeiras não mostrar nenhum poder de reação. Eduardo Sasha teve uma chance aos três, e pouca coisa acabou acontecendo posteriormente a isto. Aos 27 minutos, Willian foi expulso corretamente por carrinho, com a sola, em Diego Pituca – depois de mais um bom auxílio do vídeo -, e sem muitas emoções, a vitória do Santos foi confirmada em 2 a 0. Merecida pelo início elétrico, mas que poderia ter sido mais efetivo na etapa final para embalar melhor na sequência da competição.

Alastair Cook fell two short of a half-century as Essex were bowled out for 319 by Gloucestershire on the opening day at Bristol. The England captain, looking for some form ahead of the Ashes Series, faced 71 balls and hit nine fours before falling lbw to the medium pace of Benny Howell shortly before lunch.Essex slipped to 169 for 5 at one stage, with Liam Norwell collecting three of the wickets, before skipper James Foster, with 63 and 73 from Ryan ten Doeschate added 115 for the sixth wicket. Howell and Norwell were the pick of the home attack, the latter ending the day with figures of 3 for 75, taking his first-class wicket tally for the summer to 39.After winning the toss Essex had an early reprieve when opener Nick Browne was dropped on 1 by wicketkeeper Geraint Jones, two-handed to his left off James Fuller. Browne went on to play some sweetly-timed shots that brought him seven fours before carelessly pulling a ball from Norwell straight to Jack Taylor at midwicket and departing for 36 with the total on 58.Cook was dropped on 30 when Michael Klinger failed to get a hand to a top-edge through second slip, but batted with increasing assurance before getting a ball from Howell that nipped back off the seam and trapped him in front. Tom Westley was soon looking in good touch, particularly off his legs, as he moved to 33 by lunch, which was taken with Essex 121 for 2.But the second ball after the interval accounted for Westley as he was caught behind off a bottom edge trying to cut Norwell. Foster reached a chanceless half-century off 106 balls, with a six and seven fours.The century stand came up in 32 overs, but with 15 more added Foster fell to a fine low catch by Howell to his left off his own bowling. By then ten Doeschate was well set and he brought up his half-century before Howell struck for a third time, trapping Graham Napier lbw for a single.When the second new ball was taken Fuller produced a good delivery to have Matt Salisbury caught behind and ten Doeschate suffered a similar fate chasing a wide delivery from Miles, having faced 147 balls and hit two sixes and four fours. Fuller, who finished with 3 for 85 ended the innings in the final over of the day, bowling last man James Porter.

Big picturePakistan have recently been whitewashed in Bangladesh. Sri Lanka’s last ODI outing was that traumatic Sydney World Cup quarterfinal against South Africa. Both teams have lost key men. Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi have stepped off the one-day planet. Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene have disappeared over the horizon. These teams are not so much waging high-octane battle in the five-ODI series, as conducting experiments. Is Kusal Perera a viable long-term opener, for example? Or can Sarfraz Ahmed learn to transplant his knack of playing vital Test innings, into his ODI game, and where should he bat? What is each team’s top attack? Which batsmen will take the middle order into the future.The stakes are much higher for Pakistan, though. Presently ninth in the ODI rankings, they must defeat Sri Lanka to displace West Indies, and move up a spot. A proposed ODI triangular in Zimbabwe has added uncertainty to Champions Trophy qualifications, but a healthy margin of victory in this series would put a small buffer between them and the next team.The hosts are coming off a dispiriting Test series, but have often rebounded in the limited-overs formats. Lest we forget, Tillakaratne Dilshan still plays one-dayers, and Lasith Malinga leads the attack. In the spotlightWith Rangana Herath omitted from the squad, Mathews said Sachithra Senanayake was Sri Lanka’s premier limited-overs spinner. Senanayake appeared to have returned successfully following the remodeling of his action, in the series against England at home last year. His returns in Australia and New Zealand, however, were less encouraging. With Nuwan Kulasekara’s experience also overlooked for this squad, pressure mounts on Senanayake to prove he remains a high-quality one-day bowler.Who else but Yasir Shah?
